Caption: Western grapeleaf skeletonizers. Caterpillars of the western grapeleaf skeletonizer moth (Harrisina brillians) feeding on a grape leaf. All five larval stages of this moth feed on grape leaves; this second stage, or instar, is seen feeding on the underside of the leaf. The larvae can cause tremendous damage to grape crops, defoliating vine leaves and even feeding on the grapes themselves.
