Caption: Western grapeleaf skeletonizers. Caterpillars of the western grapeleaf skeletonizer moth (Harrisina brillians) feeding on a grape leaf (Vitis sp.). All five larval stages of this moth feed on grape leaves; this fourth stage, or instar, is feeding in a typical side by side fashion. The larvae defoliate vine leaves and may even feed on the grapes themselves.
