Caption: Fuchsia leaves (Fuchsia sp.) damaged by capsid bugs. Capsid bugs feed on the sap of shoot tips and buds. As they feed, they secrete a toxic chemical in their saliva which kills cells immediately around the feeding area. As the leaf develops, the dead areas tear, leaving holes.
