Caption: Computer simulation of an electron-positron collision in the DELPHI detector at CERN, the European centre for particle physics near Geneva. DELPHI is one of 4 giant particle detectors at the LEP electron-positron collider. The display is a close-up showing the central part of the "event". The blue lines represent part of the cylindrical detector. The variously coloured lines are the tracks of particles created in an electron- positron annihilation. The solid lines represent charged particles, which bend in the detector's magnetic field. The broken lines represent neutral particles, which are unaffected by the magnetic field.
