Caption: Bay Ghost Shrimp (Neotrypaea californiensis) are found in the intertidal zone from southeast Alaska to Baja California, Mexico. They make burrows up to 30 inches deep in sand. At least nine different tenant species are known to live in the burrows while the owner is present.
