Caption: Particle collision. Computer display of the spray of particles produced in an electron-positron collision in the L3 detector at CERN, the European centre for particle physics near Geneva. L3 is one of 4 giant particle detectors at the LEP electron- positron collider. The display shows the tracks of particles created in the electron-positron annihilation and recorded by the detector's instruments as blue, red and green lines. The Greek and Roman letters in white are the names of some of the particles involved, such as pi-plus, K-plus, K-minus, etc.
