Caption: Bonifaty Mikhailovich Kedrov (1903-1985), Soviet philosopher. Kedrov joined the Bolsheviks in 1918 following the Russian Revolution, and become a member of the Communist Party. He worked in a wide range of areas within science, including chemistry and psychology, producing hundreds of papers and books. As well as philosophy, he also studied logic and the history and philosophy of science. He founded the leading Soviet journal of philosophy in 1947. From 1963, he was a member of the International Academy of the History of Science. He was elected to the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1966. Photographed in Russia in 1962.
