Caption: US astronaut in Moscow. Arrival of US astronaut Thomas Patten Stafford (right, born 1930) in Moscow, Russia, for training for the joint Apollo–Soyuz Test Project. He is being greeted by Soviet cosmonauts (badges on lapels). Stafford was the commander of the Apollo spacecraft during the Apollo–Soyuz Test Project mission of July 1975. It was Stafford's fourth and last space mission and the first joint US-Soviet mission. The Soviet crew was Alexei Leonov (commander) and Valeri Kubasov. The back-up crew was Anatoly Filipchenko (commander) and Nikolai Rukavishnikov. Photographed at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport on 23 June 1974.
