Caption: Particle collision. Four computer displays of a particle collision in the DELPHI detector at CERN, the European centre for particle physics near Geneva. DELPHI is one of 4 giant particle detectors at the LEP electron-positron collider. In the first three displays, elements of the DELPHI detector are outlined in blue, with the tracks of particles created in the electron- positron annihilation shown as coloured lines. In the display at bottom right, the energy of particles created in the collision is represented by the height of the "bars".
