Caption: Venera 1 exhibition display. Venera 1 was an unmanned probe that was launched by the Soviet Union in 1961 to explore Venus, though contact was lost before it arrived. This display is part of the space (Kosmos) pavilion at the Soviet national exhibition centre (All-Union Exhibition of People's Economic Achievements, VDNKh). This is now known as the All-Russia Exhibition Centre, and is located in Moscow, Russia. Photographed in 1967.
