Two tail-like flagella are seen emerging from the characteristically ovoid-shaped cell. These are used for the cell's locomotion. Chlamydomanas is a large genus comprising of over 500 species of green algae which are widespread and common in a range of freshwater habitats and damp soils. The cell contains a large chloroplast; the cell produces food using sunlight by photosynthesis. Magnification: x2090 at 6x7cm size. Magnification: x5000 at 8x10 inch size.
