Caption: Bai rice cultivation, China. Bai farmers planting rice near a fishing village north-east of Erhai Lake. The Bai people are an ethnic minority population in China, mostly living in the area in and around Dali City and Erhai Lake, in China's south-western Yunnan Province. Between Erhai Lake and the Cangshan Mountains is an area of land where rice and cereals are cultivated. The wheat harvest coincides with the first rice planting.
