Caption: Australasia. True-colour satellite image of the geographical region of Australasia. North is at top. Vegetation is green, arid areas are brown and water is blue. New Zealand (lower centre) is separated from Australia (lower left) by the Tasman Sea. The island archipelagos of Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia separate Australia from the Asian mainland (upper left). The ocean floor topography shows many underwater mountains in the vast Pacific Ocean, some rising above the water, like the Hawaiian islands (upper right).
