Caption: The Isle of Man seen from space. In this natural colour image, pasture and arable land is shown as light and dark green. Open heathland is shown as brown and black. Urban areas are grey/blue. The largest town on the island, Douglas, is on the coast just below centre right. A large heath area is at centre which rises to the island's highest point, Snaefell (619m). The island's main airport, Ronaldsway, is at bottom centre. The Isle of Man is in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. The island stretches from the Point of Aire in the north to Spanish Head in the south, and has an area of 572 square km. The data for this image were gathered by Landsat 5 in 1986.
