Caption: Altocumulus undulatus clouds over water. These clouds are composed of water droplets and ice crystals, and occur between 2000 and 7000 metres. Their rippled appearance, which occurs due to wind shear, led to their being named undulatus. Altocumulus undulatus clouds are indicative of a deterioration in the weather conditions. Photographed in South Carolina, USA.
