Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Drought. Farmer stands upon dried and cracked mud, where his destroyed crops were originally planted. This severe crop damage was caused by flooding and then drought. Floodwater deposited mud onto the field, which then dried and shrank. The shrinkage then caused the ground to crack and prevented the crops from growing. Photographed in Red River Valley, Manitoba, Canada.
