Caption: Hurricane Ivan, coloured doppler radar image. Ivan heading towards Cuba, on 13th September 2004 at 0745 GMT. On the left of Ivan is Mexico. Just below are Nicaragua and Honduras. Cuba is at centre with Florida directly above it. The colours on the radar relate to the amount of rainfall. Blue and black is the lightest rainfall through green and yellow to orange and red, which is the heaviest. Data such as this can be used to predict a storm's behaviour. At the time this image was taken Ivan was classified as a category 5 hurricane, the worst rating. Ivan is the sixth strongest storm to ever hit the Atlantic basin.
