Caption: The spiral wrack or flat wrack seaweed Fucus spiralis, a species of brown alga found around the mean high tide mark. The bladders or vesicles seen at the ends of the fronds are reproductive structures known as resepticles. They are covered with tiny pimples called conceptacles. In this species the conceptacles are hermaphrodite, each one containing both oogonia (female structures) and antheridia (male structures).
