Caption: Tornado damage. Memorial for a man killed by a tornado in front of what was a house. A force 5 (F5) tornado (twister) hit the area on 3 May 1999, destroying 1500 homes. A tornado is a violent, rotating column of air characterised by a funnel- shaped cloud. Winds in an F5 tornado travel between 420 and 512 kilometres per hour. Photographed in Moore, Oklahoma, USA.
