Caption: Cyclist in hurricane Rita. This giant wave, near Key West, Florida, USA, knocked the cyclist off his bike seconds after this photograph was taken. At the time, Rita had the lowest central atmospheric pressure measured in the North Atlantic basin, just 897 millibars, and it packed winds of over 270 kilometres per hour. The record was short-lived, as hurricane Wilma developed a central pressure of 882 millibars a few weeks later. Photographed on 20th September 2005.
