Caption: Enteromorpha seaweed. View of a rock pool showing the seaweed Enteromorpha intestinalis growing around rocks. This seaweed, or green alga, is a common seaweed in brackish water, found widely in rock pools or where freshwater streams run into the sea. Rock pools such as this are left above the high water mark on coasts when the retreating sea is caught in a hollow. They provide a habitat for many plants and animals while the tide is out.
