Caption: Flooding from a river due to heavy rainfall. This area is regularly flooded. A couple in a boat are laying fish traps. The floods allow the freshwater snails hosting the blood flukes that cause the disease bilharzia (schistosomiasis) to re-invade previously cleared land. Photographed in Jiangsu Province, China, in 1999.
