Caption: Forest fire regeneration. Bright green growth of cycad trees after a forest fire. An effect of the forest fire is to prompt new growth of the cycads' palm-like fronds from the top of their squat and barrel-like trunks. These are Cycas media trees. They are found in sparse forests and on rocky hillsides in tropical, sub-tropical and warm temperate regions of north-eastern Australia and parts of New Guinea. Photographed in northern Queensland, Australia.
