Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Air archive. Scientist with gas cylinders containing pressurised samples of air. This archive acts as a record of the atmosphere's composition as it changes over time. The air in the cylinders can be used either to measure the concentrations of gases that were not monitored in the past or to refine existing measurements as analytical techniques improve. These air samples were collected at the Cape Grim Baseline Air Pollution Station on Tasmania, Australia, and are stored at the Global Atmospheric Sampling Laboratory (GASLAB) in Melbourne, Australia.
