Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Solar radiation monitor. Scientist examines a solar radiation monitor on the instru- ment deck of an atmospheric research station. The instruments around him record other meteorolog- ical conditions or collect air samples for chemi- cal analysis. The radiation monitor automatically tracks the Sun across the sky. It contains several instruments, some of which measure the light com- ing directly from the Sun, whilst others measure the amount of light that arrives indirectly from the Sun after being diffused through the atmosphere. Photographed at the Cape Grim Baseline Air Pollution Station in Tasmania, Australia.
