Caption: NASA weather balloon being launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force to check atmospheric conditions prior to the launch of the THEMIS satellites. The weather balloon is equipped with a radiosonde. This instrument measures atmospheric pressure, humidity, temperature and wind speeds and transmits the data to a receiver. Photographed on 17th February 2007.
