Caption: Polar climate research. Researcher carrying out analysis in a low-temperature climate laboratory. This work is being carried out as part of research into the effects of climate change on the polar regions. The facilities are part of the LOWTEX (Low Temperature Experimental Laboratory). These facilities will also be used to simulate other low-temperature environments, such as on Mars. LOWTEX, which opened in 2007, is based at the University of Bristol, UK.
