Caption: The southern tip of Greenland seen from space. The coastline is cut into by many fjords, although some (especially on the east coast) are ice-bound. The featureless ice sheet covering the majority of the island stretches northwards far into the distance. This photograph was taken from Shuttle Atlantis during Mission STS-45 of 24 March to 2 April 1992.
