Caption: Arctic temperature anomaly. Computer model showing the yearly temperature anomaly over the Arctic region between August 2002 and July 2003. Areas that have shown an increase in temperature over this time range from yellow to red (warmest) and areas that have shown a decrease in temperature range from white to blue (coolest). Most of the Arctic region was warmer than normal during this period.
