Iceberg frozen into sea ice. Icebergs are floating chunks of ice that have broken away from an ice sheet or a glacier. Most of the mass of an iceberg is below the water and they can run aground in shallow waters. Although large icebergs may weigh millions of tonnes, they can be trapped in the sea ice that forms in winter. Photographed near Signy Island, in the South Orkney Islands of the Weddell Sea, Antarctica.
