Caption: Amorphous ice. Amorphous ice is a non-crystalline form of solid water consisting of water molecules arranged randomly like the atoms in glass. It forms when water is rapidly supercooled to below its freezing point. This ice formed when frozen sea water was highly compressed giving it a green colour.
