Caption: Moss spore capsules. Macrophotograph of spore capsules of the moss Bryum capillare. This is a common species found growing on rocks, walls and trees throughout Europe. The plants grow to between one and five centimetres tall, with tiny leaves which become twisted when dry. These fruiting bodies commonly appear in spring and summer, and contain thousands of spores. Magnification: x1.1 at 35mm size.
