Tungurahua volcano. Clouds on the snow-capped peak of Tungurahua, or the Black Giant. It is an active stratovolcano, located near Banos, Ecuador. It is 5023 metres tall, and has a crater width of 183 metres. Its last major eruption was in 1944. Its lava is largely composed of basalt rocks that are rich in silica, iron and magnesium.
