Sulphur rocks. Pile of sulphur rocks in a volcanic region. Elemental sulphur is produced around volcanoes by the condensation of sulphur- rich gases. Sulphur is used in industry to produce fertilisers and dyes. It is mainly used to manufacture sulphuric acid. Photographed at the Solfatara volcano, Campi Flegrei, Italy.
