Caption: Pacaya volcano erupting. Aerial view of a plume of steam and ash issuing from the top of the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala. Pacaya is at an altitude of over 2500 metres. The volcano has been continually active since 1965. Its eruptions are a combination of Strombolian (regular, but non-violent) and Plinian (violent explosions) types.
