Caption: Spike moss (Selaginella versicolor). This plant prefers to grow in full shade in moist conditions. It is a member of the club moss group. Club mosses are moss-like, vascular plants with small, variegated (bi-colour) leaves. They reproduce via asexual spores which develop underground into the sexual reproductive organs. These fuse to form a new plant.
