Caption: Gabbro igneous rock. Gabbro is a plutonic rock, or a rock that solidifies from molten magma deep below the Earth's surface. It crystallises slowly under such high temperatures and pressures to form large, coarse grains. They are rich in feldspar and pyroxene minerals. This sample measures 125 millimetres across.
