Caption: Norite igneous rock. Norite is a plutonic rock, or a rock that solidifies from molten magma deep below the Earth's surface. It crystallises slowly under such high temperatures and pressures to form large, coarse grains. It contains calcium- rich feldspar minerals. This sample measures 100 millimetres across.
