Caption: Crystals of green tourmaline embedded in quartz (silicon oxide). Tourmaline is a complex silicate of aluminium and boron which occurs in many colours including black, brown, blue, green, red and pink. This specimen measures 7.5 x 2 cm and was found in Taquaral's Mine, Itinga, Brazil.
