Caption: Homo ergaster skull. This skull was found in Kenya. H. ergaster is usually considered to be a early type of Homo erectus that lived in Africa. H. erectus was the most widespread of the hominids (relatives of humans), and is thought to have lived between 1.6-0.3 million years ago. H. erectus fossils have been found throughout Europe, Asia and Africa, although some consider them to be different species based on their location. This skull is from an adolescent.
