Caption: Neanderthal man. Model of a Neanderthal man (Homo neanderthalensis). This hominid inhabited Europe and parts of western Asia between 230,000 and 29,000 years ago. H. neanderthalis was adapted to inhabit a cold climate, having a large noses and a stocky frame. Its brain was around 10 percent larger compared to modern humans.
