Prehistoric human funeral. Coloured artwork of a funeral procession of early humans during the middle period of the Stone Age. The procession is being led by torch bearers, while the dead man is being carried on a bier of tree boughs at left. The burial will take place in an underground chamber in the burial mound at right. Large stones have been used to form the entrance to the mound, which will be closed up again after the burial. The man will be buried with weapons, ornaments and utensils he used when alive.
