Caption: Trilobite fossil. Fossil of the trilobite Glyptagnostus reticulatus. The trilobites are an extinct group of marine arthropods with a hard, segmented shell divided into three sections. This trilobite belonged to the order Agnostida, whose members were small with similar, large head and tail (pygidium) sections. Most trilobites were bottom dwellers, living and feeding on organic sediment on the ocean floor.
