Caption: Fossil cloudinids (Cloudina sp.). These are the fossilised remains of an extinct multicelled animal which existed in the Ediacaran period, the later part of the Neoproterozoic. It is thought that these early shell-bearing fauna were simillar to annelid worms. Photographed in Namibia.
