Caption: Fossil remains of Archaeopteryx, the flying reptile with feathers. It was found in the fine- grained limestones of the late Jurassic period (195-135 million years ago) at Solenhofen, Bavaria. Archaeopteryx, seen as the link between reptile and bird, had many of the features of a small dinosaur with the addition of feathers and combined reptilian and bird-like claws on its wings. It was about the size of a crow.
