Caption: Prehistoric fish. Computer artwork of two Drepanaspis gemuendenensis fish on the seabed in the Devonian period (408-360 million years ago). These were primitive jawless fish that had no fins, apart from their flattened tail. It is thought that they spent most of their time on the seabed, scooping up tiny animals from the sand or mud with their primitive mouths. This model is from the Devonian Sea Simulator, an interactive virtual reality model of Devonian marine life.
