Technicians putting the finishing touches to the paintwork of a robotic Allosaurus, part of a collection of robotic dinosaurs made by the California-based company Dinamation International. The dinosaurs are sent out in travelling displays to museums around the world. The dinosaur's robotic metal skeleton is covered by rigid fibre- glass plates, over which is laid a flexible skin of urethane foam. The plates & skin are sculpted & painted to appear as realistic as possible. The creature's joints are operated by compressed air and controlled by computer.
