Dinosaur eggs. Palaeontologist cleaning a clutch of fossilised dinosaur eggs. Remarkably, the shells did not suffer serious breakage as they were covered with sediment millions of years ago. Fossilisation and mineralisation processes then transformed the eggs into solid rock. These eggs were discovered in the Gobi desert in Mongolia, an area particularly rich in fossil dinosaurs and their eggs.
