Caption: Rock carvings or petroglyphs showing a group of women praying, possibly at a funeral ceremony. The small hollow between the legs of each figure indicates that they are female. The petroglyph was made in the neolithic period, between 5500 and 3300 BC, by hammering the rock surface with stone instruments, a technique known as percussion. Photographed at The Archaeological National Park of Naquane, Lombardy, Italy.
