Caption: Saharan rock art. Rock painting depicting three human figures amongst animals. This is an example of a rock painting from the so-called round head phase, a transitional stage from hunter-gatherers to pastoralists. It dates from around 6,000 to 4,500 BC. This style of painting is found at Tassili in modern south east Algeria.
